Candice Jeffries is a vibrant soul and a true lover of exploration.  Her desire to cultivate beauty in the world takes many forms, such as creating art inspired by nature, educating local youth on the outdoors, and even leading vigilante trash clean-ups in various corners of Philadelphia.   Whether wandering the city streets or the forest, she often finds herself arranging elements of the environment into hearts and patterns, like an ephemeral calling card.

Candice is the artist behind The Whitman Fox, and can be found vending her jewelry and photography work at community craft fairs.  The Whitman Fox, which takes its name from the discovery of fox bones in a grassy knoll by Walt Whitman's grave, is dedicated to the peaceful place inside creating, as well as to the calm inside remembering and loving, that "all goes onward and outward, nothing collapses" (W. Whitman).   Utilizing materials such as copper, reclaimed leather, turquoise, and bone, her jewelry designs are heavily influenced by natural forms. She is an avid traveler, and shares quiet observations of beauty through her photography. Printed on wood, her photographs are ready to take on a new life in someone’s home. View more of her work at thewhitmanfox.com.
